Hey guys havent been around for long on here but I need some advice. My old toy car is up for sale (Datsun 1200 ute) and I want to get back into the bush!!!! As a young bloke I used to get amongst it all the time. Im ready to go back to a little 4x4. Question what is a reasonable price to pay and is it best buying stock and building yourself??? Im not the most mechanically minded bloke but can do a bit and I have a good mate who can get lift kits etc. Any other info for a new bloke who doesnt know that much about what Im getting in to!!! Thanks Brett |

Loiter around this site.
You'll soon get a good feel of what to look for and what goes wrong. Personally I'd look for something with light mods. 2" lift, good mud tyres and maybe extractors. Check for the usual mechanical stuff. Oil leaks, slop in drive line, strange gearbox/transfer noises. Select 4wd lock and unlock hubs. Maybe able to talk down price if they are not up to scratch but they are easy (read cheap) to fix. |

Hey man, im not looking for anything hardcore, just something that can handle fire trails and get me to places off the beaten track so I can go camping. Defiantly wont be my everyday car, but really need it to be more than happy to get me a couple of hours from home. Getting quite excited!!!!! |
