hey guys well last night i went to remove the fuel tank thinking it was stupid easy job unplug some fuel lines 4 bolts drop it down but then i noticed after i undone the 4 tank bolts and filler hose that there is a hard line coming out of the tank...
with what i think its a fitting kinda used on gas lines etc size 18 i could not find the 18 so i had to put everything back up there but does this sounds like your standard Sierra tank it does have a External Electronic fuel pump .. i just thought it was easier then playing with spanners in a tight spot .. im not saying this job is hard i just didnt think it was fiddly .. i also thought maby i could leave it done up and take the chassie brake line fuel line clip off and drop the tank but im not sure how to take the clip of with out braking it hope this makes sence any information would be helpful thanks :) id say it looks like the first photo in this link

I think its actually a 17mm and should be easy enough to undo once the tank is dropped enough to give you access to it..

actually I think I've used s really big and really solid shifter, this works well on this sort of fitting (including brake lines).

hmm i was thinking that but i dont think i can drop the tank with out bending the solid line there is no soft line from tank to chassie the first soft line is after the brake / fuel line separator bracket i was thinking of tanking it off but not sure hot to get it back on

Put a trolley jack under the tank and lower it down 6". The line will flex down with the tank. Do it when the tank is nearly empty.

You may have to spray the fitting with some break free or otherfreeing agent and let it soak for 15 mins before trying to crack the fittings. Be carefull not to twist the hard lines when undoing, so make sure you use 2 spanners ( one either side of fitting)
