Is it possible to clean the float switch in the brake reservoir?
I keep on getting the low brake fluid warning light coming on (hand brake light coming on even though the handbrake is off) and think it's the float in the reservoir somehow gumming up.
The switch itself works when I do a continuity test (when moving the float up/down & the continuity changes from normally open to closed). The switch seemed to have behaved itself for a couple of weeks after working the float a few times but now it triggers again.
I don't think it's the handbrake sensor because the handbrake light gets brighter when I engage the handbrake even when the light has been triggered by the low brake fluid warning.
Is the float integral to the reservoir, ie. I have to buy a new reservoir to replace the float if need be?
