looking at going to a coily front on my heap purely to pick up the chrome grill and make it look a bit more modern than it is.. as i know the chromies are rarer than hens teeth, i decided to ring the local suzy dealership to price up a newy.

first call i knew thay would ask for a vin so i got a vin prefix off redbook.com but that didn't work " can only find a grey one" was the reply.

next step was, i was lucky enough to get a vin from a member on here that had a chromie on his coily and tried to use that " can only find a grey one" was the reply again) i guess i'm not 100% sure his came with the grill from the factory, it was on there when he bought it.

so, has anyone here bought one from suzuki? even better would be a part number

or does anyone have a ridgey didge limited edition that i can use their vin to try and order one?

You know a coiley front doesnt flow with the sierra body lines?? They are slightly different.

Try another dealer.. Some arent helpful, some dont know much and some just suck.

You can order em out of japan... One of the coily drivers should know from who.

I had one on my ltd edish coily.
The grill was damaged so I carefully removed it to place it on a new grill I bought. It had a small crack but wanted to keep it as I knew how rare it was.
I cleaned it up ready to go on and left it leaning against a chair for a few seconds before I was going to put it on.
The wife walks in and steps on it snapping it in 3 places, turning it into a very rare & shiny piece of garbage.

You won't find one in Australia & if you could get one from Japan I'd be on board for one too. But it is unlikely.

From what I gathered Ateco the former Australian importer used the chrome grill covers on the Ltd coilys that came with chrome wheels and a roll bar.

The Suzuki spares shops never stocked them, only Ateco & they don't import Suzuki any more.

so is the chrome bit just a cover that clips over the top of the grey plastic?

yeh, ajsr, your probly on the right track. the local chroming bloke can only do ferris so it would be a post to sydney job. not the end of the world but would have rather get one over the counter.

yep.
Stuck on with a bit of automotive double sided tape.
I inquired about chroming the grill & from describing the size the bloke I asked mentioned around $1000.
From what I was told he was the guy to chrome onto plastic- Chrometech from Castle Hill if I remember right.
