I am getting ready to remove the Vitara engine.
Is the high pressure fuel line still under pressure when parked?
Or do I have to be careful not to get a face full of fuel?
If it is under pressure, is there a relief valve or similar,
before I disconnect hose fittings.

Just pull the fuel pump fuse and wind it over for a few seconds to relieve any pressure before you pull it apart

when i helped a mate do his HG we just undid the clamps off the rail, there was a bit of fuel that leaked out and was under a bit of pressure but nothing extreme

if ur unsure wrap a rag around it!

Crack it at the pump and leave it for 5 minutes.

Theres a large plug/bolt type thing on end of the rail,
may be that could relieve it,
before getting under tha car.

yep the bolt at the front, put your spanner on it, cover with a rag and undo it, a rails worth of fuel will drain out

if it hasnt run for a few days I doubt any pressure is still there but it pays to be careful and wear glasses

much better than lying under car trying to undo lines with eyes closed.
My eyes are the only thing left that still works properly,
so will be looking after them.

Only a dribbled out, so thats was good.
But now I can't undo the bloody line, stupid rusty dirty couplings.
Will spray and leave it till another day.
