Hey Guys, Orange Vitara is gone and now have a 2001 Grand Vitara. Im having some problems getting some decent tyres in a 16" rim.Car currently has crap 235/60/16 H/T Tyres. Has anyone fitted 15" rims to a Grand Vitara and if so can you please advise the specs? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Lisa |

It may be an idea to specify which engine you have in that Grand Vitara - depending on which country you are in, a 2001 Grand Vitara could have a 1.6, 2.0 or 2.5 litre engine. As far as I'm aware, most 15" rims won't clear the the front disks on the 2.0 & 2.5, they may clear the smaller disks on the 1.6 - although if you choose rims with a large enough offset or use spacers, you might get away with it. |

On a 5 door...Normally no. but some rims can be made to fit if you grind a bit of the caliper....not a good idea...... Dont know about early 3 doors. |

Thanks for the comments everyone. Its a V6 model. I went to the local tyre store and they only had 2 options - cheapest possible A/T and Goodyear Terra Tracs. Im looking for 225/75R16 or 235/70R16. I called another 3 tyre places this morning and they said I could only get H/T in my sizes. |

Depends on what money your willing to spend, as to what options. |

You need to find a better tyre shop! As I said, there are a number of options in KM2, same with BFG AT, and 4 or 5 each for Wrangler MT-R, Maxxis Bighorn, and Kuhmo KL71. I found most of these on the Bob Jane's website... |

Thats right, i put the goodyear duratracs on mine in a 225/75r16.I had to do a little bit of trim amd massaging to get them to clear at the front. even with some spring lift and spacers. |

What part of Brisbane are you from? If you're on the southside, go see Ryan at Tyreworks Slacks Creek. He'll sort you out. All the big players should have 225/75R16. |

I run the same size in a maxxis mudder and i had no problems with them fitting. But i do have an alloy bar. Im gonna be running 245/75R16s when the arrive.

Yeah they hit the splash guard up front, and just touched the firewall side on turning. |
