Hi all, Before you say use the search, I did, multiple times and got sick of opening countless threads only to find they were for sierras because the titles weren't specific. My G16A is just nudging 200,000kms and is using a bit of oil. Cooling system is perfect (I recently replaced it all with new gear). I am thinking about trying to find a second hand G16A or G16B and rebuilding it slowly as a project (never tried it before so should be fun) to transfer in. Obviously doing a couple things like the cam etc while it is out to get a little more grunt. I also have the car off the road for minimal time this way. I like the idea of the EFI conversion but am struggling to find exactly what needs changing and how difficult it is. I know I need: G16B motor ECU and complete loom BUT I am unsure on the following: Fuel Pump Engine mounts I think the gear box bolts straight up Connection to the dash instruments Does the cooling system match up Do I need to make sure it comes with dizzy or anything else And probably a multitude of other things I can't think of right now I guess what I am asking, is can anyone provide a list of exactly what I will need for the G16B conversion and whether it is worth going from 1.6 carby to 1.6 EFI. Thanks heaps! Pete |

Unless the rest of your car is perfect I doubt its worth it over selling yours and just buying an EFI vit but the main things that differ Engine Engine bay loom Dash loom cluster Fuel Tank Rear loom Fuel lines perhaps |

Well that's what I was tossing up... I have just spent $800 on a roof rack setup, and soon to spend nearly $1000 on suspension, which will sort of prohibit the option of upgrading to a newer car due to too much money being wasted. Maybe it's best just to rebuild a G16A then... if I can find one... |

Would they fit though? It would be going from a 92 carby Vit to a newer EFI one... and it I upgraded I would geta tin top next time. |

Suspension will be fine going from 1.6 SWB to any other 1.6 SWB roof rack from soft top to hardtop could work but better to sell it and get some $20 racks from the wreckers |
