i installed mine without a press, just used a gear puller with the shaft in a vice to get the old gears off, and a piece of pipe or a large punch to knock the new ones into place. was surprisingly easy just took a little more time. as as said before the instructions are good with nice big picture witch always help |

it took me three days, 2 days to get one flange nut off and 1 day to do the rest |

use a big long pipe worked a charm for me when i did a mates 6.5's. |

Mine took all day, mostly because I was trying to replace the cage bearing in the end of the rear output shaft, and it broke and wouldn't come out, I spent a few hours with the dremel carefully removing it so the new one could go in! |

Half an hour to pull it apart. 15 minute drive to use my mates press. Then about 3 hours more to reassemble. Used a larger diameter pipe to reassemble |

It's very simple with those clear instructions. Give it a go yourself mate. A few workshops will press the gears off for ya for a 6 pack. |

Just buy a bearing Puller. for supershit auto it cab be used later for wheel bearing then and different size pipe to put them back on. |

Pulling apart and putting together is my specialty I think a mate of mine has a press come to think of it. Thanks fellas |

I'm a complete mechanical noob and got it done in a day. Started pulling it out at about 10am and had it back in by 6pm, with beer and pizzas in the middle. The major drama was actually unfreezing some of the flange nuts. Once the transfer was on the bench, it was only a couple of hours. Take the time while you've got it out to fit a Roctoy ring or similar though. I broke one of the standard transfer mounts about the second or third time I took it out, when I was still babying it. There is A LOT more torque on the transfer case with the 6.5's. I didn't have a press for mine either. Just some creative work with a vice, sockets/pipe and a rubber mallet

Yeah the flange nuts are the hardest part. Put some moly slip on the thread so next time it's a little easier. |

Good man, forgot about that. If your careful you can get it with a grinder and flap disc also

Highway Star and I did mine in a day with a press and it wasnt overly pleasant. Would adive do it over a couple of days to make it easier on yourself. We did it in about 8 hours. Then I installed the gearstick in the wrong way and couldnt test it for a couple more days

Got a Dremel So pretty much just take my time haha I heard about the transfer gears ripping mounts, how much are roctoy rings usually. |

Yes, if you run stock mounts there is a good chance you will damaged them with 6.5's. |
