is there a fuse?
where is it?
i had to change the combo switch in it not too long ago may that have something to do with it??
(got cut off yesterday and i just felt like a tool bashing the horn and nothing happening.

Just had this problem. I fixed mine by removing the spade terminals and tightening them.

yes. can get dirty and loose over time.

There is a fuse.

There is also a brass disk on the underside of the wheel that picks up a spring-loaded copper contact from the combo switch. The disk and contact wear until it they no longer make contact. I flipped the disk over in mine. That should last a short while.

There is also a spring in the rag joint that earths the steering shaft - it could be corroded or broken.

You could take the steering wheel off and connect the exposed spade terminal to earth via the steering shaft. If the horn sounds then the problem will be with the disk and contact or the contact in the horn button itself. Not sure about earlier Sierras bu t on a coily they are easily cleaned.

Do you have a multimeter or test light? One of the wires at the horn should have 12V constantly. If not, and the fuse is ok, you have a wiring problem.

If you do have 12V at one of the horn terminals, have you tried earthing the exposed spade connector in for the horn to somewhere else - say the cig lighter circuit or an exposed bolt? If that works, then your problem could be the spring in the rag joint.

EDIT (thinking some more): If that doesn't work, then your problem is probably the spring loaded contact in the combo switch where it meets the underside of the steering wheel. Try taking the steering wheel off and earthing it - horn should work if the wiring is ok.

i added a relay to mine and it worked again! the horn itself must of been getting old and good power from the battery woke it up, and it's 5 times as loud, might help yours?
