Hey all, I know I've been posting a lot since I joined Auszookers recently, I just want to know all I can before getting my '96 Sierra. The Sierria I'm looking at had a mobile RACQ test done earlier today. There were a few small issues uncovered which (worst-case scenario) will cost me $605 through MIDAS (Inc. $219 service). The #1 major concern for me which came out of this test is the rear differential has an issue which will result in requiring a replacement eventually. I was talking to my mate who said I may as well just replace it with a Diff-locker straight-up (which I was planning to do anyway, eventually). I know ARB are the kings of Diff-lockers but they're way outta my price range. I've heard Lokka's are also good, but I thought I'd ask the awesome people of the Auszooker's community for what the best locker would be for approx $1K (+installation). Thanks guys |

Whats the issue with your current diff.. The ARBs can be had for under $900 off websites like LowRange. But still require the use of you existing ring and pinion... Lockrites and such use you existing carrier aswell.. |

At around 60KPH there's a whiring-like noise coming from the differential. |

So I won't need to buy a whole new diff? Okay. That's a relief! Haha. |

mate it's a zook, if it can't be fixed for under $200 buy a replace item for the $200. No one standard item is worth more then that, hell you can buy an engine for $200, won't necessarily be great but it won't necessarily be shit either |

Okay, what I think I'll do is check out the local wreckers and have a browse for a rear diff. |

The front wheel bearings are an issue too, but they're an easy fix. It would be nice if it wasn't a really big issue, but I'm not that lucky. |

It would be nice if it wasn't a really big issue, but I'm not that lucky. You'd have to be quite unlucky for it to be anything but bearings, even if it is A whole diff can be bought for a few hundred bucks, super easy to change it too. |

Hahahaha when it comes to zooks, this is pretty much true for most standard parts. Layto.... |
