Hi all,
Just thought I'd post up with the problem I had and the solution I found.
The Baleno I bought to use the engine for a conversion was running when I got it, the battery went flat and I took it out and charged it and put it back and it started fine, multiple times and different days.
The battery went flat in a month sitting there so I just charged it in the car this time.
Now the car wouldn't start, I had indicators and headlights and radio, but no dash lights, the immobiliser light was blinking so I was hoping that's all was wrong.
I went poking around under the dash and found three fuses beside each other going to the immobiliser/central locking control box. Pulled the blue 20A fuse and the car started first time no worries, put it back in and it won't start, pulled it back out and all good.
I'm still going to talk to a proper auto electrician (as opposed to me being a standard electrician) to find out what the hell might have changed aside from the battery going flat causing the immobiliser to come on but yeh, fixed for now.
Figured this may be of use for someone in the future who has an issue with a Baleno or Baleno G16B and can't get it to start.
If anyone has additional information which may be helpful, throw in your 2c!
