Im currently rebuilding my 1.3 and want the head done up. Only prob is i dont know much about them and dont wanna get ripped off. What should i get done to improve performance a bit?
Valve regrind? bigger valves? cam? ported? Ive heard it all but whats worth getting done?
Get the valves ground and the head checked for cracks etc. get the valve stem seals replaced and the block mating surface machined. You can get cams for them from Tighe. Then get the carby rebuilt professionally with bigger jets in both primary and secondary throats
If your running upgraded intake and exhaust some time on a flow bench is money well spent, and cam change will make the little rattler fly,a 1.6 head has bigger intake valves and ports and bolts on i think you have to run the 1.6 fuel pump with it. A grand should cover a rebuild, port and chamber massage and a new cam and rocker kit

The reco work mentioned by Scrawn above will set you back around ~$400, to basically return it to factory spec.
Additional work beyond that will be hourly rate and won't always see an improvement.
