Hey guys this arvo i measured up for new rear shocks and i had it flexed up and noticed i had plenty of gap between tyre and guard. And thought since ill making the right distance so the shock wont bottom out whats stopping me from cutting 20mm off the rear bump stops to gain a bit of up travel. I have a 2inch Body Lift and rear leafs are only got 3 leafs per pack and standard rear shackles. Thanks Matt. |

The extra up-travel will most likely destroy the leafs |

Is that cause they're are going more flat? would it make the shackles inverted |

I lifted mine up on a forklift to measure shock length noticed the bumpstop limiting travel, removed it lifted it again and bent the spring now its sits nice and low in that corner, sweet! |

There's gotta be a easy way to get rear travel. will cutting the rear hanger off and moving it forward with longer shackles work. would it be the same effect as longer springs |

It's not the same as longer springs, but it does work. It's really the only way to get more droop other than a longer spring or 3/4 elliptic. Bear in mind though that longer shackles are illegal and you won't be able to put standard shackles back on once the hanger has been moved. Steve. |

you need to be careful longer skackles like longer springs or they invert and get messy, longer softer springs flex good, but not great. the rear is hard too much flex and you car gets all unbalanced and ugly in the steep stuff, lockers negate the need for for heaps of flex my last car had average flex but front and rear lockers and it idled over any thing |

i trimmed a fair bit off the bumpstops of my challenger and it allowed a fair bit more up travel did 130000km on the springs and they still worked fine. |

If youre cool going illegal the sky's the limit my 3/4 eliptical gives good droop its simple to dummy up cut and old spring in half, fit the eye end in the top of the shackle clamp the cut end to the chassis with a couple of u bolts and flex it up dont go too long though mine end above the diff and seem too work ok |

Should be a whole thread in here somewhere with 3/4 stuff.. Was a good one untill ssssssssssssssierra got in there and started dribbling shit but some useful info. |

Check tomorrow ill take a pic on the morning I have one spring but when my new ones arrive I'm going to try a couple As they 3/4 spring dosnt allow the main pack to flex at all I'm hoping the increased rate in the 3/4 spring will force the full spring to work more as it out flexes or more aptly out droops the front. I will post if it works |

No. 1/4 spring should sit flat against the chassis rail and thus shouldn't increase your static ride height |

607CHA What springs are you running now? If the diff is level with the chassis,Horizontal, Not flexing. If you were to lower the arse to the bumps, How much shock travel will you have left? How much room is in the guards when flexing? How much bumpstop are you planning to cut out? Good work guys. Bumpstop mods, story is now 1/4 epp.. |

Body lift was put in for height. if i knew back then what i know now ot wouldn't be there. it does help with some stuff. |
