If you want to take it on the beach then it may be worth it. Hose it out when you get home.

If you want to see North shore, Rainbow or Fraser then YES it is worth taking the Jim as it's a hell of a lot easier than walking.

For rustproofing I use a mix of :
25% new engine oil (thicker the better)
25% new trans fluid.
50% cavity wax.. (available at supercrap)

Spray this mix everywhere you can get it in the body, and leave to drip overnight. Next day, go for a long drive on a dirt road to get a good coat of dust on everything to seal it so sand doesn't stick everywhere when you hit the beach.

Beach driving....
Keep left.
Lower tyre pressures help.. EG 60% of road pressure.
When parking for a look or fish, reverse up to the dune facing the beach so people driving up and down the beach can see from a distance that you are stopped and not a moving vehicle.

Just use one of those little plastic spray bottle things.

I use a very cheap sandblasting gun with a hose over the nozzle to insert into door and panel cavities.
It may be worth drilling a few extra holes in the pillars (in inconspicuous places) to get proofing in there. Plug the holes with little bungs from Clark rubber or similar.
