Post subject:  Issues with Water & the Electrics...

I could really use some advice. On Saturday we experienced very heavy rain south of Melbourne.

I believe water has gotten in somewhere as last night the alarm went off even though it wasn't armed, and hasn't worked properly since. The Zook seems to struggle under acceleration and the dash lights up when I use the brakes.

I've tried using the search function to find a fix, but am not really sure what I'm looking for. Does anyone know what the water has affected and the best way to get Butch running properly again?

Thanks,

Miles.

First starting point would be to pull all the earths off, clean the surface and re-fit them.

The alarm is probably dead, pull it out now before it leaves you tearing your hair out somewhere.

Thanks, I got up at 5 this morning and did the earths on the battery. I also pulled all the fuses out of the fusebox, gave them a wipe and a visual check and put them back in. Both the battery and the fusebox seemed dry, so I don't think water had gotten into them.

The drive into work this morning was better than yesterday's driving experience. He started juddery but after 10 km's seemed much more settled. I'm thinking wet and slipping belts, maybe?

The electrics seem to be behaving themselves as well, though the central locking has acquired a bit of an attitude...
