Is there a rule of thumb for crush tube lengths for shock eyes. As in the bush needs to be compressed to the shock eye thickness + 2mm or something like that. I'm putting n76 shocks in my sierra and had intended on matching the length of the lower shock pin but the eyes on the N76 shocks are thicker than stock. Which brings up an issue in itself. So I need to know.

1. Is there a rule of thumb for determining the length of the crush tube in relation to the shock eye thickness?

2. As the shock eyes are thicker than standard what have people done to extend the lower shock pin mounts to suit?

Cheers

The captured tube in the shock bush should be longer than the thickness of the shock eye to allow for misalignment. I wouldn't go trimming that tube.

Best way to go would be to change the bolt that it attaches to. I think I have an idea how to do it, just gotta eyeball one and see if it'll work.

Can you measure the tube in the OME shock and a stock shock and tell me what the difference is???
