Well I would pull the axles out, then remove the diff and then we will all know.
I'm beting side / spider gears or pinion gear or crown wheel.
ooh could be bearing. That's about all that is in there so I must win.

Spider gears are fine. Run the car in gear (2WD) up on the axle stands and stick ya head under (with or without camera) and tell us where the noise is coming from. |

The noise is coming from the diff pumpkin and towards the end of the passenger side axle tube. |

Pull it out and have a look then. If it's damaged then you gotta get it out anyway |

when both wheels are in the air and the cars in gear and you have an open centre (no locker), when you spin one wheel the other should spin the opposite direction. liamhh wrote: The noise is coming from the diff pumpkin and towards the end of the passenger side axle tube.
have you checked wheel bearings?. while the cars on the stands still with the wheel in the air, grab both the top and bottom of the wheel and try to wiggle it , see how much play it has... |

Found the problem, diffs fine it's a stuffed wheel bearing making all the noise. My moment of stupidity wandering why my wheels wear spinning of the ground in gear. Should of done the bearing when I replaced the axle seals. Thanks for the help Cheers Liam |
