Another week, and g16 thread... Since i've got it runing properly there have been no problems, until Thurs last week. All of a sudden the engine would not idle nicely. Then it would not idle at all. It would start fine, it would drive just as it would before but would not idle at all. I checked all the vacuum lines over the weekend, and cable tied some that I suspected were a bit dodgy. I also came across a little split in the intake tube between the airflow meter and the throttle body. I fixed all these little things but the problem remained. I knew that the engine will run without the airflow meter so I disconnected it and sure enough it idles without it, so I figured it was the airflow meter. Having a look down the bore of the airflow meter I saw a little rectangle of metal about 3mm x 10mm connected to a couple of tiny little wires. This was bent off to the side and I figured it should be more directly in the airlow. So I bent i back down (carefully!) and put it back together. Hoorya! it works! BUT, this morning driving to work it stopped idling again |

when I cleaned mine wit a cotton tip and contact clean I fair bent that thing off to the side and shit bricks at the thought of buying a new one so I carefully pushed it back into place and superglued it there (very very small amount on the join) and since then I have been enjoying 8.6l100km |

OK, so how is that bit supposed to stay put? Is something broken? It all looks fine to me, except the bent bit. Where exactly did you put the superglue Royce? I just took a pic of the meter...

That little rectangular piece looks to be a circuit board of sorts to me, if you shine a light from behind it you can see the track on the board. I bent it down again and glued it into place. I hope that works |

yeah it is, I am sure I had another bit that stuck up like this though I was more freaking out about breaking it and being stuck in Bruces backyard with no way home other than his driving and having to hear what a great and helpful guy he is |

It ran OK all the way home, but not as good as before. Some of the glue has probably covered some of the board... but it's better than it was. |

Careful, the aftermarket one I bought was a POS and didn't work for crap. I gutted it and it's now an inlet air temp sensor |
