235/75R15...

235=235mm wide

75 is the 'profile', or height, of the tyre measured as a percentage of the width... meaning 235mmx75%= ~175mm. you double this because the 'profile' is between the rim and the surface contact area. so 350mm is the total height of the rubber part of the tyre

R15 is the rim size in inches

to get total size of tyre, add rim & rubber heights together. 350mm = ~14".

so your tyre size is ~29". (this is with a bit of rounding off, actual figure collected from atari's link, as he stated, is 28.9")...

hope that helps... :helloo:

Edit: because my description is so good :crazy: i did a little bit of noobcad on a google image:

as for why ones 185 wide and ones 200 wide on the ground, check your pressures, and don't compare front and rear, cos the fronts got more weight on it. (well, actually it means you might want to lower or raise the pressure on one or the other to balance it out).

The tyres have the same pressure, are all marked 235/75R15,the trailer spare is 15mm wider than the car spare across the tread

it depends on lots of things like carcuss construction and how the tread base is designed.

some LT tyres have a massively narrower foot print than the actual carcuss width.

just run two tyres of the same brand like you should anyway and its all good

as i said, different weights front and rear means the front tyre will bag more on the road giving a wider footprint than the rear.

Different brands make different size tyres. Even though they are the same marked size..

Measure a 35" BFG to a 35" Nankang. The Nankang will be smaller ;)

You might find there is some diffenence between rim widths as well (trailer and car) which can affect the tyre width (and diameter) too.

The tyres will be 235mm from the side wall bulge to the other sidewall bulge. The width of the "footprint" will be less than that
