Post subject:  Good solution to Sierra mirrors
Has anyone found a good solution to the Sierra side mirrors wobbling all over the place and being basically useless when on tarmac?

I've tried the 1.0L old style and 1.3L new style mirrors. Pulled them apart and cleaned them up and re-tightened them etc.

So wondering if anyone has come up with a creative fix that doesnt look gastly (like attaching a truck mirror etc)?

??? mine work fine as they are, they only move when someone knocks them :(

Maybe try putting some sticky goop in there or something, I'm not talking full on gluing them, just maybe some kind of tacky stuff that will help it hold and not slip around.

Check your engine mounts and gearbox mounts for breaks. Check that your tyres are not out of balance. It sounds like you are getting some wicked vibrations coming from somewhere!

My ute has the 1.3 mirrors.... its fine. Although the rear vision mirror gets a little vibe up at certain rpms, its not so bad tht it goes out of adjustment or anything.

It's not the mirror moving around (and having to readjust it) that really pissing me off... it's that during normal driving the mirror vibrates enough so that any vision through the mirror is basically useless.

Vibrations aren't caused by the mirrors. You'll need to find the source of the vibes to fix this issue.

You probably will need vibrationless mirrors. They have a vibrator motor in them and a sensor so that they vibrate to the same rate as what they are mounted to so the image appears clear. :crazy:

I used Vitara inside mirrors on my Sierra.
Same fitting.
Narrower obviously,
but that kept them out of tree branches.
Sierra mirrors getting harder to find in good nick.
Vit interior mirrors are often free.

Mine are fucked, but thats because my tyres are out of round :lol:

A reversing camera would be wise, too.
Still need mirrors for legality, tho.
