the air vents in the center of my dash are loose.. is this a common problem? and can i just pull them straight out??? i plan on "shimming" the contact part with some modelling plastic to make them "tight" again.. |

can you heat up the plastic and "stretch" it to make it tighter??? that worked for one of mine |

yeah mine does that on one so guess it's a little common. mine has the older square type vents. when it's hot it's tight but when you put the air-con on ond it cools down it gets loose. chewy wrapper work a charm |

same happened to mine, I just bought one of those little adhesive carpet-ish thingys that u buy to put like under furniture to not scratch the floor, painted black with a marker and put it on top of the vent so it create nough friction in order to make them steady..... much better than the trick of folding a little piece of paper till is thick nough for the gap lol

I've done very similar but with a single side adhesive foam.. even became a factory fix for a rattle in the Jb's center vent's....

Yeah i had the same issue. Business card did the trick but i like the sticky felt idea. When i installed my fm and uhf radios i found a heap of business cards in behind the dash....so someone else had the same idea. |
