Can someone please help explain how this happens to me?

Okay so lets focus on the second pic...

The right hand side of the bracket and the bush has moved out about a full centimetre...

How on earth is that possible when the bolt that clamps together both sides of this bracket onto the crush tube inside the bushes has a nut with a spring washer on it?

The nut would have had to undo about 20 rotations? I thought the spring washer stops that from happening?

Is this normal? These bushes have only been in there for about 10 trips out

(mind you about 5 of those have been pretty insane tracks where most people were running lockers)

When I replace the ironman bushes with new ironman ones (as soon as i find a ironman stocker on the southside) ... should I also replace the bolts, spring washers and nut?

going by the scrape marks on the spring and hanger youve bashed it on something and bent the hanger, welcome to offroad, where rocks are tougher than steel

Nolethane/ polyurethane. same crap. It's just a name
There is over 48 different types of poly. From harder than a golf ball to softer than a rubber band. And all do different things. Some work better than others.
As I said, most manufactures (mass produced) use the same hardness poly for all bushes. :roll: So if you buy ones for a Landcriuser or zook you will get supplied the same hardness.

ive had a set of suparoo ones last me one trip they just crumpled what it was was they were old stock so the greese inside reacted with the ruber and started braking the blue nolithane down

As you may know grease is a petroleum based product, petrol based products deterioate rubber / plastics / poly.

That's why it is reccomended to use rubber grease, I never use the white grease the bush's come with.

Being old I still prefer rubber to "plastic", but I have not experienced the nolethane/ polyurethane or whatever you want to call them bushes chew out in such a short time maybe because I am very liberal with the grease when I have fitted them.

Ah fork it. Looks like I have to redo the bushes on my Zook then. I'd heard the whole "poly bushes are self-lubricating" before so didn't grease mine.

Is it just the inside that should be lubed, ie where the bolt goes through? Or do the outsides have to be done too? If it's only the bolt then that will make fixing my stuffup a bit easier.
