Hey guys this noise is bugging the shit out of me. Its coming from my front drivers side and only seems to happen when i go up my driveway (up the kerb) or going over overly large speed humps. Ive just done all the front end bearings so i can rule that out. Ive checked my front shocks, springs, shock mounts and bushes and they are all good. Its ONLY been happening since i got my new bighorns. So im thinking could it be the massive about of tread on the tyres moving around? Never had any mud tyres before so i dunno if this sound is normal or not? But id rather get it sorted unless its something ive over looked. Could it happen to be anything else moving around under the drivers seat? |

look for shiny spots, rubbed clean by the tread. |

Thats what i was thinking, but i cant see any scrub marks anywhere?! Sounds like a god awful noise though, is that what it usually sounds like when it hits the firewall? |

Are there spring clamps on your leafs? If there not there or open it could be the tread opening up and slapping the leafs back together.... |

Yeah the spring clamps are there, i pissed the bolt off though because it was digging into the insides of the tyres. royce wrote: abclarke wrote: Sure do, i feel like youve got an idea go look again, in the right hand wheel arch on teh seam and the back of the spring, youll see rubbing The seams have been smacked down as far as i can tell, but it looks to me like its slighty rubbing on the firewall. (pretty much under my feet, where the noise sounds like its coming from) Would this just be due to the extra weight on the drivers side? As well as having some proper tyres with some decent tread now |

turn right and go up a gutter the tyre is close to the guard and you compress that spring so its even closer its gunna suck offroad |

Just wondering why the old tyres of the same size didnt do it? Because the new tyres with the huge tread im guessing? A new challenge now Besides the noise and the slight rubbing, would it have any major effect? |

Mine doesn't do it on gutters and driveways but. It does it on FULL compression, like some serious force into it. But it only sounds like someone running dirt into your guards cos my guards are pretty flush inside. |
