Has anyone had there ecu remapped?If so where did you get it done. Looking for info with regards to remapping and piggyback ecu's that have been fitted or programmed succesfully on V6 vitaras.

So I take it no one has done anything like this then since we have no input. Well I shall keep you all posted if I find someone capable of doing a remap and if that doesn't work out I will post up the results of a piggyback ecu fitted to my h25a. So far the only person that thinks they may be able to remap the ecu is silverwater automotive. Fingers are crossed

Why do you want a remap? Unless you have made significant changes to the engine's V/E you will gain stuff all at the risk of significant drivability compromises.

Well for starters I am driving a 95 vitara sv620 which I've fitted fitted a H25a too. So I have a 2.0ltr ecu running a 2.5 motor which is currently overfueling like mad. On top of this I have a turbo I'm fitting to it in the next month.

i was quoted 1200 for one at a 4x4 place in perth
but i think a small motec is 800 then a few hours for someone to tune prob be 1500 all up

My daily had a remapped ecu done by silverwater automotive.
The remapping cost is well in excess of an aftermarket ecu.
ie: $600 for initial works, and $160/hour on the dyno to get the tune sorted, with a minimum of 4 hours charged. They kept the car for 2 days each time.
With several visits to suit different levels of boost and cam changes, it was nearly a 2grand exercise to retain the factory ecu (retained that ecu to please the engineer).

By comparison, the adaptronic in my sierra was under 2 grand, supplied, installed and dyno tuned. And visits to the dyno are a 1 day affair and generally about $300.

Thanks mnemonix, The insight is invaluable. I have not been down this road before so your previous experience will hopefully save me some money. Do you recommend anyone in particular for tuning on the suzuki's?

Are you running the H20A MAF? which injectors are you running? I suspect that its overfuelling because its calculating the fuelling based on the H20A injectors but you are using the H25A injectors instead.
I doubt if the stock ECU is remappable in standard form. I assume that its an Hitachi ECU? a 1995 is probably an H8 processor similar to what is fitted in the 16V ECUs, these need a daughterboard fitted to allow it to be remappable.
