hey, just been down to the wreckers looking for a new engine for my zook. they had a bunch of barinas with the g13ba, but they didn't think that they would fit in the sierra

anyone have any expierience with putting a east west engine out of a barina or swift into a sierra?

Most beepbeepbarina's are g13a, Same as swifts. (1324cc)

later sierra's are g13ba (1298cc)

Almost the same motor. With abit of searching, there is tones of info on them on here, and for simple converting.

If the suzuki block starts with a G, Its one of the easiest swaps/conversions for a 1.3 sierra

thanks, but if the engine in the barina is a g13ba 1298cc would there be any issues putting it into the sierra? I know the east west engine, the distributor is straight, but can I just swap that with the one from the current engine if it doesn't fit nicely

Hey, while I have this thread open, and it seems that if I do put a barina engine in I will need the cam shaft from my current engine, does anyone have any tips for removing the counter sunk rocker securing screws? Being too loose seems to be the common issue but I can't budge them for the life of me and they are starting to strip out. In another thread I found a link to replacement screws from suzistore I think, but I need to get them out first :S

My Sierras swift/barina had a multi V double pulley set up.
I kept that on mine,
so the swap to power steering and a 110amp alternator was easier.
Otherwise need to fit the Sierra water pump,
along with sump, oil pick up, cam and mounts etc.

Note to self: drain oil before removing the sump
  :D

My spare G13a motor, from 88/89 Swift has dizzy mounted similar to sierra.
The dizzy vaccum line is in different location, up against firewall.
Carby needs to be rotated 180.
Sierra parts required, water pump return pipe, engine mtg brackets, inlet and outlet manifoilds.
