hi guys got a swb sierra with 2inch susp, 2 inch body and 2 inch shakles with 31/10.50/15. looking at some other options as the suspension kit i bought was a cheap one off ebay and is realy stiff. just wondering if id be better off going spoa with standard springs or spua with the lowrange offraod yj spring missing link kit. im looking for better flex and a better ride. cheers |

i'd start by putting standard shackles back in and seeing if that makes it ride better, or pull a leaf out |

I'd say both. With no lift the body lift will clear those tyres anyway. |

X2. I'm not sure how you arrived at those two options as a good setup for ride with a 31" tyre. A SPOA with stock springs will provide the same ride as a stock sierra. That's not great. Missing links are retarded. They are for posing on ramps. the hassle of either setup isn't worth the performance considering your tyre size and intended goal. Your 2" Body lift is what is fitting your tyres. No other suspension lift is required - you need enough lift to provide sufficient compression travel for the speed you wish to travel at. 35mm or so will be plenty. To start with, choose some shocks that are known to be soft, such as Commodore. Take leaves out of your too-stiff springs to lower the rate. This will improve the ride. If you are prepared to do some fabrication, RUF with aftermarket leaves will provide the best ride when teamed with appropriate shocks. Steve. |
