Hi guys, just fitted some EBC greenstuff pads, bought via ebay, posted from England, Made in England.

I've had these before when I was into VW Golf GTi's in the past, but haven't used for a few years. I can say on my Jimny they are really superb so far. Thoroughly recommend. Worth every penny and worth waiting the 25 days or so it takes to post from England.

Aern't they a bit of an overkill?

I use Bendix 4WD which are good enough.

Nup their good for your discs, although you'll either love these or hate em. Mintex 2144's are a similar compound pad but dust up more.

Overkill <shrugs> their brake pads that are a soft compound and come into operating temps early, so should be ok on a lightweight vehicle.

Nah greenstuff aren't overkill. Just really good brake pads. Greenstuff are road pads. EBC red stuff are track pads, and yellow stuff is for very heavy vehicles.

The pads I repalced were by no means worn out, but even so the green stuff are a lot better.

Green arent a street pad, Blacks are.

How different are they between cold and once up to temp? I find in my mini they are pretty terrible on the street and I really need to work them to warm them up then they are great, that difference in braking would really annoy me in a street car.

No, Green stuff are street pads, always have been. I can't detect the difference between cold and warm. If they get really hot I'm sure it will deteriorate somewhat. I've had red stuff before and I could tell that they deffo needed a bit of heat to get them working well, but with the green stuff they always work well. Red stuff were ok for road use too if you do track days occasionally, but if you dont do track days then green stuff are the way to go. Regarding the Jimny they only offer green stuff obviously for this type of vehicle. I think EBC do some normal Black pads too but so does everyone else. Perhaps your mini is properly light and the green stuff are acting more like red stuff pads, I can't think of anything much lighter then a mini.

How much did the set cost? My Bendix super duper flash mate eh metal ones were about $60 from memory.

That's cheaper then Bendix 4WD pads.

in my little fast car my green stuff pads destroyed my rotors in two sets. as first set had to get rotors machined, second set bin rotors. that and they threw brake dust everywhere. did do the job though and couldnt fault their performance.
