hey guys I'm currently putting a g16b in to my wt sierra and I'm a little bit unsure on the wiring. Now i have look but the threads weren't really that helpfully so what I'm after is what is it that I actually chop out for example all indicators and and accessories wires get chopped and anything that runs to the ecu stays. |

There's three paths - either leave all the original wiring in, and just create an engine loom for the G16B take out all the G13 carby wiring and create an engine loom for the G16B or wire the whole G16B loom in - but you will need to use the G16B steering column etc as all the plugs are different. In a G13 engined sierra, I'd strip the carby engine wiring and make up a G16B engine loom. There are relatively few wires that need to go to the computer from the Sierra loom - ignition +ve, -ve, VSS, fuel pump wires, check engine light, engine start. Steve. |

I think i will splice it in to the sierra loom so i dont have to screw around with changing the plugs to suit. thanks for the reply |

I did a g16b loom last weekend. I followed the 1st option steve listed. I cut the g16b down to bare minimum to make it a new engine loom and splice it into the few needed wires. Also makes it easier if you want to seperate the loom + g16b later, and return the vehicle to stock. It was exceptionally easy. I downloaded the wiring diagrams and did two print outs. I cut one print out up and used sticky tape to make labels for everything. Peel the outer sheath off and start following wires, stripping stuff out. And labeled the few earths etc as you go. There was lots of discarded wire. |

here is what you need to keep  its really easy to get to this point (cutting the tape off is the hardest part). Little bit unsure what to do from here but there is a way to pretty much make it plug and play. Hopefully someone can enlighten us.  anyway do it yourself, its not to difficult and it will really enlighten you as to how auto electrics work! |

sure bud. you need to do something with the ignition and fuses in the top left corner as well just haven't gotten that far yet |

no engine was running before wiring came out assumed it would still be fine havent touched anything else only the wiring |

SO it gets fuel. How did you come to this conclusion? Does it have injector pulses? |

i removed the fuel line under the injectors. as for the pulse i am not sure but i did stick a test light on them and they had power |

Get a test light onto an injector. One side will have a constant 12V with the ignition on and the other side should flicker when you wind it over. If that isn't happening I would really have a good look at your wiring. |

okay so i checked my wiring today they both stayed constant no flicker i tested injector 1 and 2 both were the same what could i have done wrong for this to happen |

i kept it complete length and only removed accessories like headlights and air con. the only thing i can find wrong is what jr zook pointed out. which is that the injectors and pulsing it's just constant power |

Well, I guess if you haven't cut anything, then it can't be a crossed or swapped wire. I guess the next steps are confirming you have all your earths in place and making sure you have all your plugs in. Engine earthed? |

not finished was waiting on a tank to be made for 5 months and now that it is i don't have the money to pick it up, but i belive it's correct check it over servel time now and all seems good |

Im doing this now, For some reason i wont get injector pulse unless the starter signal has 12v (its the black/yellow wire a2 on the ecu i think).

What is the part number of the ECU? Have you checked for fault codes while cranking? I would suspect that you're missing the Ignition Fail Safe signal or maybe you used the wrong wiring diagram, that looks like a Mitsu ECU - the diagram above is for a Denso. |

Yes and yes. Mitsu and wrong diagram. Itll be used as a stand alone loom. Could i just wirw that wire to a kill switch? |

IFS wire must go to the noise suppressor. You have to have a pulse of more than 20V or so before the ECU will see the signal as its looking for the noise suppressor. |

And yer never actually cranked it. Just turned dizzy by hand and checked spark and pulse |
