Ok, so i would like to Run 33's on the Zook. I will be competing in my Zook @ Willowglen this year, Obviously there will be a few more mods to the Zookie like some Armour and Sliders as a start Back to the point. 33's? I don't know how to calculate how much reduction i will need to run 33'' tyres bringing it back to somewhere near (or slightly better than) the stock ratio's. i have a 1.6L 5speed Manual, running 5.125 Diffs. Thanks guys! (ps this is the first time i've been on properly to AZ in a while, i've noticed alot of work has been done to the forum, Looks really good, so a big thanks to the guys that generously give up their time to get it done, Well done Guys! )

Undertaker and 4.6 diff and 4.2tc 4.2 tc gears should be enough for low off road but high is going to suck on road Two of my mates run 33 ok though |

GBW - Thanks for the reply, yes its being Trailered to Willowglen not being run on the Road. The undertaker isn't a viable option atm, and quite frankly i'd prefer to SAS the Vit before putting that inbetween. The 4.2 Transfer gears might have to do then, was just wondering if anyone knew how close (or better) reduction they would actually provide. |

Miy Vit has 4:24 tranny gears. In low gear on 31's gearing is a bit too low. I reckon it would run 33's very well. Hi range is just bearable. Mines an auto LWB. |

Plenty of guys in the states run 33 and even 35 with just 4.2 and 5.12 so it should be right R u auto or manual |

don't alot of you sierra boys run 6.5's in the hilux diffs to run 33's? |

6.5:1 transfer case ratio with 4.88 diff centres is what most run with 37's. |

Wt tc case with gears would solve alot of gearing problems |

AFAIK you need to make a plate that blanks off the back of the gearbox with a bearing in it to support the jack shaft. I think i remember seeing it in a sierra running a vitara auto box. |

Only auto needs that Joe makes them so does low range U could use Sierra front shaft in the back of a lwb then just make a jack shaft to suit and custom front shaft Problem might be that it is a offset flange but center diff so u might get vibes But the vit out put is really high so the angle would probly be the same just to the side not up and down |

it has been done a lot in the usa, no spacer required only for auto's. the jack shaft is a direct fit the rear of the vit man box. the hardest part about the hole thing is the custom mounts and some tunnel massaging. then need for custom shaft would also be needed. i have looked into it a bit, but will only do it if i go through with engineering. if its not a daily i would be doing it, but then again a w.e wheeler wouldnt need the high range benifits of the wt case. if someone comes up with a strong and effective design for the mounts then im open to ideas. |

Mounts would be easy Bigest problem would be the fuel and brake line that are in the way on te chassie Patrol link bushes at the ends of to bits of pipe running from chassis rail to chassis rail then mount the case to that with rock Troy ring and something similar to the standard mounts Fish plate the chassis then just a rhs off that to take the bushes with some gusets The tunnel would be the hard bit as I think it needs a fair amount opened up Steve Pete or Joe would the tail shaft angle be to bad U could clock the case a bit to help a bit |

If your staying 33" put a auto in with some t case gears. driving a manual on 235 tyres is the same as a auto on 31". I've towed trailers loaded up hundreds of ks on 31"s and a auto. chrisiover tows trailer out around and out bush. K.i.s.s and wheel the piss out of it. |
