My 1997 vitara g16b

But when you drive and put you foot down just to get going it just dies in the a$$.
Just nothing till you let foot of a bit then will take of but can't put foot down at all really can't even really drive it so much work and so slow getting it moving.. :(
It will rev right if you really really ease in to it but still carrys on a bit,
You just try and hold it flat it like back fires out air box??
So I had a mate look at timing was all sweet he did it from start just to make sure it was not a turn or a tooth out
Was all good done leads they where fine dizzy looks a bit worn but look as so it wood work
Not sure where to go from here
Any idea
Was fine bit of a miss here and there when I got it but is now fully sh$t
Any commen pobs with them can't be motor motor seem to be in good nic

Is it EFi or carby? Sounds like either timing or fuel

G16B so EFI.

Milky oil? Sounds suspiciously like a little leak in the head gasket...

Check your Ignition Timing (with a timing light) if its incorrect and adjust if required

umm. the Infamous flogged keyway on the crank, is exactly as it sounds. what you need to do to is inspect the keyway on the crank (it involves removing harmonic balancer / timing belt etc... ) You should also check that the bolt that holds the timing belt cog on is tight.

Timing is fine have had it all off we did timing pulled belt off looked at it was new!
Just asked mate about key way he saying it seemed fine but he taking it to work tomorrow have a 2nd look
Had timing light on it all good timing is sweet
Just pulled fuel pump and tank out filter ect
When I got it got told it just had new pump and filter on!
When we pulled filter out it was fill of mud and sh$t didn't look new at all,
Filter on bottom of pump had a hole in it,
And tank had a bit mud black sand like stuff in it cleaned tank out,
And getting new pump and filter tomorrow mates puting it all in at he's work, (getting parts cheap with he's work to win!)
And pulling injectors out looking at then clean rail out ect
Flush lines out
So hope that fixes it
Lucky tanks very easy to get in and out haha

Have a look at the muffler, mate. I've had baffle plates break loose and effectively block the exhaust gas flow. It seems to be a half throttle to full throttle thing, I guess the gas pressure forces the plates together and they drift apart at low throttle. Check exhaust flow with someone revving to high revs, if flow decreases, theres your problem.
