just question on tyres went to a tyre place and wanted to put 235/75r16 Nangkang Mudstars on they pretty much said no. whats the bigeest tyre i can go, or what have Previous GV owners gone? would like muddies have a 2 1/5 inch lift |

I have 225/75r16's with just over 2 inch lift and they only just fit |

From what I have read... 225/70/16 fit with zero rubbing (Macdaddy runs them) 225/75/16 fit but may need a *tiny* bit of massaging 245/70/16 fit again with a bit of massaging (pretty sure built4thrashing and gdixon are both running this size) Any bigger than that (245/75/16, 265/70/16, 235/85/16 etc) and you will have to get creative with a hammer/grinder. 235/75/16 only measures ~29.8 inches overall diameter, so I can't imagine they would need too much work to get them to fit. |

I run 245/75/16. They fit with a huge ammount of effort and cutting of the inner plastic in the arches. They will not fit if you still have the stock front bumper |

yeah just the tyre guy was goin on about the legal side of things, then said i'd be changing the gearbox every 3 months? |

Tyre diameters for those interested 235/60/16 = 688mm 225/70/16 = 721mm 225/75/16 = 743mm 245/70/16 = 749mm 255/70/16 = 763mm 245/75/16 = 773mm |

As far as I understand the new rules (according to VSB14) for increase in tyre size without the need for an engineers cert, have a look at the attached spreadsheet and filter for tyre diameter difference (column I) between -26 and 50 I've only used 16 inch rims and know not if they will physically fit.
