Hi guys, I have 91 sierra, so when you have your head lights on the car revs more for the lights is what I've been told. Is there anyway to stop this happening or does it really need to be doing this.

Thanks in advance.

that's idle up. its ment to do it to help the alt create enough charge to run headlights etc.

You can stop it, it is useful to have it working though as it helps stop the battery going flat with the lights or heater on

watch the front of the carby while somebody turns the lights on, youll see the actuator that moves and its adjustment screw, just adjsut it till you get a better speed

Oh that's great then thanks very much jonno and Royce.

I also have another problem with my revs when cold the engine sits at 1000 idle but when it warms up a bit it wont idle below 1500 and its never done this before. Any clues on what might be happening here. I searched and saw maybe hoses or something but im not sure.

Cheers
