BRAD wrote: what about if its off a 6'' lift kit? if ya know There is no such thing. Any lift of that magnitude will be custom, and ANYTHING could have been done with shock mounts etc, so there is no way to tell you if they will work or not. |

Wouldn't they be way to soft as well I've been told that u need to run a lot stiffer shock in a coil set up then u do with leaves |

BRAD wrote: yeah that sounds about rite because the shocks in leaves only coushin the ride thanks mate Not nitpicking, but WTF? Steve PS yes it is true that leaf cars run less shock valving than coil for the same spring rate, my question is how is the function of a shock different between a coil or leaf car? |

umm i dont realy understand what you mean but i thought that the front shocks would be bigger on a sierra because you can get like 4'' lift ones and i thought that they would be a good size for a vitara |

Isn't it because the friction between the leaves create there own self dampening to some extent |

Do a search for vitara shocks. I wouldnt be suprised if people were using vn-vs commodore wagon rears in the rear |

mate just go to supercheap and get some vp/vn commodore wagon shocks. these are used by heaps of people and are almost perfect for 40mm/ 2inch lifts theres a thread called something like 'commodore shocks question' in 'good tech' or have a look in my build thread

got_bar_work wrote: Hey can I plz ask where did u get the rear swaybar from in ur pic above GBW, check his build thread for more pics. I think it might just be a pedders one... seeing it's Red? I asked about it a while ago & Larry posted a few good pics for me. I'm thinking it might be a good way to add some roll stiffness to the floppy bum of the Vitara's & get it to balance out the flex a bit better. |

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13142 this thread is right on the money, skim through the first few pages for the part numbers and open closed lengths ect the sway bar is what im assuming to be a pedders one, i acctually took it off as it seemed to just get skull dragged on everything. tbh i can hardly notice it on or off road. in flexy ruts and such the rear end is just as soft with or without swaybar in, and on road i can still go fast around tight corners. the only place i think it would be helpful is high speed sweeping bends on country roads or on corrugated dirt roads. im not saying it does nothing, but it doesnt do much.. maybe a different design would have better results |

If it was mounted above the housing id just leave it but its more of a disadvantage to me. Its just a bad design for 4wding |
