I need some pics of how the seatbelt cable that hangs out the back on a Maruti tray back conected to the tray. The Original way would be the ideal but for you guys that have changed your tray have you had any trouble with a roadworthy?

I used high quality chain fed thru PVC tub bolted to tray

Post subject:  Re: Maruti Trayback pics needed

what is the purpose of this chain anyway?

Post subject:  Re: Maruti Trayback pics needed

I used the chain to replace the seat belt bracket,as the metal bracket or mounting point on tray will crack do to flexing over time.it should be noted the metal bracket was designed for Single frame (ute body) not for seperate tray

Have you googled "maruti trayback"? It is surprising how many pics of Sheps junk turn up.

Yeah I have. I can't find one photo of the bracket. I would just make something up but my roadworthy guy wants it to look like the original. So any photos would be very helpful.
Cheers for the help

I may have picture on PC if I find it I'll post it.
The bracket is only a steel tube thats been flatten into a tab at each
end, with holes the same diameter as seat belt bolt at either end.

Maruti never produced a factory trayback, they were all butchered to trays when they arrived here.

Post subject:  Re: Maruti Trayback pics needed

Correct, they were all well back/styleside till they arrived in melbourne.
Maruti's cab chassis were fitted with at least 3 different tray styles that I know of. That mount looks nothing like my '95.

They used the Original Piller Support Tube with one end Bent 90 deg to to bolt to External Tray. These were fabricated from Original Parts when the Ute back was Removed, I have 4 in my Shed in Sydney but I am in WA at Present

My 95 had nothing of the sort. That sounds dodgy as!

Yeah that's why I made my own with high tensile chain as they use to crack from flexing

That photo that Whincup put up is exactly what I needed. Mine has the same stainless cable hanging out the cab but all I needed was a way to conect it to the tray that looks kind of original. So Thanx to all
