There was a new Hilux (PARR plates) at TT that had coilovers all round and registered in QLD. Wonder if you could do it to a zook and get it legal?

Fatzook has a ute with coilovers, I think he is planning it to be registered QLD

I have a lwb to be registered in nsw with coilovers

Most roadcars technically have coilovers!

It doesn't really matter what medium is used for springing - coil overs, separate spring/shock, airbags, whatever- you're designing a link suspension and will need to comply with sound design and construction principles. A coil over is just a means to an end. The coil over is neither legal or illegal, it's all about what it's being attached to.

Link suspensions and coil overs are expensive. You need to know what you need them to do. IMHO they offer lots of tunability and have some packaging benefits, but IMHO most of their advantage over a separate coil/shock is evident at high speed, not something that's very relevant for a Sierra.

The main aim is for a softer ride. I'm sure a good setup would give this and have good flex as well. I plan to research this more and see if its worth doing.

they're coilovers in the front, PARR's hilux has had a SAS & plenty more done to it by Buds Customs.
