Hi there, I just got back from spending an awesome weekend at Stocktane beach in the bog stock Jimny. But it has shown a problem. When i was working the car hard through the soft sand and big dunes it was fine, but when i pulled over and was idling the car would cut out and not start up. I would have to wait about 10-15 minutes before it would start. The temperature gauge was only at about half way so i am a bit confused as to what was going on. It did this about 5 times over the weekend. It also did it once on a trip up to the Watagans where i pulled into a servo to fill up after being on the freeway at about 100 kmph for about 2 hours and it just didn't start for 10 minutes. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, |

There was a thread about this a while ago... Apparently Jimny's have a fuel accumulator thingo setup that can fail. Sorry I don't know much more than that. |

Thanks for that, I have been reading alot of things that mention the cam sensor as a source of problems so will have a look into it. Thanks, |

depends on engine, could be the crank pos sensor if an M13A and that "fuel accumilator thingo" i believe was my problem last year you are referring to. different symptoms, and that was just a loss of fuel pressure due to a o-ring getting dislodged on the fuel pump assy. but i changed the crank sensor as part of my fault finding. |

Hi there, I have the G13BB engine in my Jimny if that is able to narrow down the possible sources. I believe that my model Jimny doesn't have an external cam positioning sensor. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, |

Sorry, Just realized that the G13BB only has a Cam positing sensor and not a Crank Position sensor. Thanks, |

Tank fuel breathing system is a possibility. Try running with tank cap off, to check if it is an issue. |

Sorry for not replying. I haven't actually done anything to the engine yet as the problem has not occurred anytime since i went 4X4 driving. However I am planing to go soon so if it does play up again i will probably change the Cam positioning sensor just to rule one thing out. Thanks, |
