Currently running lockright front with open rear, got an airlocker (26 spline) and chromos sitting on the bench and about to pull my finger out. Was originally gonna run the airlocker in the rear and just leave the lockright in the front but since im pulling both diffs apart im now thinking ditch the lockright and run airlocker front and weld the rear. What are your opinions? i wanna know what driving is like with the welded rear on the road? cheers guys

I have no problem with a spooled rear. Not a big fan of rear lock rights though.

If you daily/commute it, then go with airlock rear , lock right front.

If you don't daily it, minispool rear/ air locker front.

Welding is OK, but for the price a Trail Tough minispool is a good investment. I've welded a few diffs and they're OK, but there's always that little niggling doubt, and I've pulled out cracked welded diffs, even if they hadn't actually failed.

We've broken enough axles on trail tough mini spools to know they are the goods.
