Just wondering if a diff drop in my 97 4door vitara for a 3 inch lift so I don't blow out my cv joints in the front?
Thanks boys!

Yes.

Others may have succeeded in getting by without them, but it's not ideal.

Shouldn't decrease your clearance as they lower the diff housing. Being IFS this sits up higher than the front suspension crossmember so that will still be your lowest point at the front.

There are ones like this which are a bit cheaper:

Or you can get ones which look stronger from bits4vits in the UK

They shouldn't be too hard to install. I think it is just a case of a couple of jacks under the front diff, out with the old in with the new. might be a bit of a jiggle to get all the bolt holes to line up though.

Also adjust your steering stops, to stop you turning too far when at full droop.
And definately go easy on the throttle when it is at full droop.
This will help[ cv's a bit as well as a diff drop

the calmini ones make your diff sit a pinch below the crossmember.

My diff sits like 20mm below the cross member
There not that hard to make
Mine are way over kill
I used 10mm plate
I used some 3mm mdf as a templet
Bolted to the diff in place of the brackets
Left the diff bolted at the pinion and let it hang down as far as I could
I have a gv mount which is better for this as I could weld up the holes on the mount and drill new ones so that it's not trying to bend the mount like the vit one do after u tilt the diff down
