I've always wanted to coil a lwb Sierra as my next project. Had it for a while now and I want to start the build on it. Does any one no much about the legal side of things for linking a car in qld. Last time I read you have to go through dot? Is this still the case?
Mods such as coil and link front or rear is considered a major modification and needs to be approved in principle before any work is started. Approval in principle requires consultation with a Transport approved engineer.
You need to show and convince the engineer that what you want to do is safe and within the law, then you need to get him/her to submit an application to Transport, then you need Transport to approve it, then you build it, then you get the engineer to sign off, then you get the lot inspected by Transport.
You need a lot of time, money, knowledge and patience to complete this procedure.
