Seeing as my winch bar is almost finished Its time to start thinking about an aux battery to run the winch and spotties. I've searched around but havent come up with anything specific.. Where have you placed your auxillary battery in your vit and what size battery have you used? My 6000lbs tigerz winch says it requires a minimum of 650 cold cranking amps and i was thinking of fitting it to the drivers side of the engine bay near the firewall as i have a good amount of space there, although maybe not enough for the size of battery required. any pics and info would be appreciated.. feel free to add what dual battery isolator system youve got too as I'll need to start hunting for one soon. I have, but I just used a relay and don't have a winch, so my experience won't apply other than i mounted the battery under the passenger seat. |

I just installed a 140amp isolator and 100ah agm battery in rear of jimny. Now seeing as I know 1/10th of sweet f/a about auto electrics I am concerned that the wiring and isolator won't be up to the job as a 9500lb winch will be fitted soon. Look around and ask LOTS questions to auto sparkies etc before outplaying major coin on gear that may or may not be up to the task! |

ive done 0 research into dual batteries ect, but can i just connect 2 normal batteries in parallel so i have (the equivalent of) one big battery? the application is for winching |

You'd be better off putting a redarc isolator between the batteries... That way you can drain the second battery and still leave enough to start your car in the main... You can pick them up off eBay for $90 |
