What suspension setup do you currently have? Ext shackles have their place. But they aren't suitable for everyone. EDIT: Have you run it past the search function here on AZ? Ext. shackles have been talked to death. |

Extended shackle ONLY if you have longer springs or moved shackle mounts. Longer shackles and lifted springs dont mix that well. Less flex/movement than stock. Good for full sick lift though. "scissor, banana, flipout, pinned, snakeracing" shackles. Alot of people dont like them. I have never tried them Extended shackles legal? Your dreaming. If they arent legal now, they never will be |

arnt drop shackles only good for posing flex shots? No weight on the wheel = no traction anyway |

that would be a combo of longer spring and extended shackles so it would work better again. BUT simply bolting on extended shackles is crap. |

youve got it the wrong way. You use extended shackles for longer leafs, for example ruf if you set the right angle you will have a hard time inverting them |

To put it simply it's the shackle angle that is most important not the length. You want a shackle angle at resting ride height that gives you your desired up travel before the bump stop without inverting the shackle on full bump and plenty of droop if you've done it right. About 45 degrees is the normal desired shackle angle but more or less can be used depending on desire for up travel or droop (if you were jumping dunes you wouldn't want it resting on bump stops). Zook's often tend to work better in the slow stuff with more droop than up travel though. Unfortunately the majority of lift kits for leaf sprung 4wds leave them with horrible shackle angles of near vertical providing a bone jarring ride and terrible flex. |

Also note that in the front extended shackles can affect the amount of castor and lead to death wobbles. |
