Been lurking for a while, had a jimny in the past and now have finally gotten a 92 sierra. Caught it cheap with a G16 conversion, with a couple of oil leaks and a running issue.
First of all, what breed have I got? It's a 16V TBI.....the throttle cable has Alto written on it in paint pen and the exhaust heat shield has baleno lol. Rocker cover looks like what I remember a Vit cover being? I'd love to be able to go to a wreckers and peruse different cars to match it up but we have one wreckers here and they're useless. The next wreckers is 1000kms away so please don't ask.
Second, as part of the sus conversion it looks like a cover plate was left off, exposing the flywheel ring gear. Could anyone suggest the name of this part or is it just a cover plate?
And here where the extractors foul the motor.....very well done. SE QLD workshop, won't mention the name...
The running issue - Idles at 2000rpm. The whole show is run from a Wolf 3D ecu. What I think is the IAC valve has no plug leading to it, but having put my finger over the smaller idle air tract and finding revs only change by 200rpm I've decided the problem is from another source. Checked for vacuum leaks using a can of easystart, no change in idle quality there. What about this odd coolant system going into the TB, thoughts, ideas?
