Post subject:  Help needed starter motor Clapped out

Hit up some water crossings. long story short starter died ripped it out
It was full of mud and every thing u could think of.. Lol so got a brand new
One and it's still doing the same thing just ticks once when I try..??? But it
Does run if I clutch start it ...
Any ideas please help I want to go hunting lol

get a multi meter, check your batt voltage, should be between 12 and 13v if not charge your batt.

check your alti, its prob full of shit to.

Tried a new batt with jumper leads as well would that rule that out

check your getting a neutral (earth) on your starter, also check you put the positive on the back of the new starter on the right pin.

It's back the same way I pulled it out?. But could be dirty earth under the bolt I guess I will try that thanks

U went through a water crossing. Electricals and carburettors don't like water. Check your airfilter for wetness. Check all your leads,plugs, dizzy, etc etc. I'd also try a carby clean. Providing it is carby??

Yea it is nmh didn't go over the head light and I got towed back out

It's pissing me off could the craby be fucked? Or need a kit?
