I found a vitara with a g16b in it for a sierra engine conversion. What should I take? How much should I expect to pay for a motor that blows a bit of smoke? (guy said it blows a bit of smoke) Any other notes before I get it? |

Unless it is cheap I wouldnt get it. You can get low km jap vit engines from importers for $1400 iirc! |

And the new enviro laws; post Tsunami; are finishing off all of the small wrecking yards that may have held stock in the past. So that leaves the Aussie delivered ones with 300K on them, or something else entirely. |

So in answer to your orig post. Grab the engine, all engine loom, all other loom, dash. Ecu. If its swb grab the tank and pump. If u wanna go that way. Grab all the power steering stuff. And the accelerator cable. |

Still take everything, if everything else is fine all you will need is a new pump. Or you could sell the rest of the kit and get back money on it! |

Payed $1500 for mine from cairns wreckers, unknown to me it didnt have MAF sensor (be sure to get this $150 on its own). you should get instrument cluster as mentioned, for speed sensor. And get the resistor condensor mounted to the firewall (or not, you may be the first to crack what value the resistor and two capacitors are inside it to make your own) |

Probaly leaky head gasket or something similar I'd imagine. I think once u rebuild it, it will still work out a good buy. |

Any good auto sparky or killa kustom cables. Anyone that can do brazing can do your pickup. The sump you just flog with a hammer! |

Sump and pickup shouldn't need any mods. |

To run the vit eng in the Sierra you have to use the Sierra sump to clear the diff housing which in turn means a hybrid oil pickup with vitara and Sierra. Unless you have moved your diff and have lift you can just use normal vit sump I think! |

Unless you have moved your diff and have lift you can just use normal vit sump I think! Correct. And I prefer to TIG the oil pickup as opposed to brazing. Looks neater. |

If my loom wasn't precut I'd happily pay that. Fuck the headache of wiring it up. And u will always know that the wiring was done properly! |
