The vitara that I am robbing bits from for my Sierra has headers with a single wire 02 sensor, the plug looks like it should be a 4 wire 02 sensor. The single wire is dodgly joined to the loom behind the plug. Should I get a new 4 wire sensor or will the single wire jobbie be ok? |

4 wire is a heated sensor. 5 times the price, and does the same thing once the motor is up to temp. |

I think the 4 wire O2 sensor was for north America and Europe. Not sure I've seen an Aussie delivered G16 with a 4 wire.... I'd say that your scotch locked wire was broken at some point. That, or the O2 sensor is from another vehicle, and it was easier to butcher the wire than swap the plug or pin over. |

Aftermarket sensors don't come with the plug, so easier to cut the old wire and tap in. |
