Post subject:  Transfer case rear output seal - what size is the nut?

Hi guys,

I noticed this morning that my transfer case is leaking. Looks like the rear output seal has gone.

Does anyone know what size the nut is in front of the seal? I tried to do the diff pinion seal a while ago but my sockets weren't big enough. I have a feeling I will have the same problem with this one, so I'd like to buy the correct socket before I start job this arvo.

Cheers,

KD.

27mm socket. And you will need a GOOD STRONG. Rattle gun.

And a good strong socket! Impact socket preferably. I had a 1/2" drive 27 open up on me last year. Lucky I was wearing safety glasses!

If you absolutely have to use a normal one, wrap it with some fibreglass reinforced tape first.

Yeah it is tight as. Easier just to go to a tyre shop. The fella was even nice enough to do it for free.
