Does anyone know how to clean these or do they just need to be replaced? There is alot of corrosion and rust which is preventing contact points. See pics |

I didn't even know those things come apart! If they're giving you issues i'd say try to give the contacts a good clean and see if you can get them going again - steal wool and wd40 maybe? |

Yeh it's just a rubber sleeve that slips onto a 10mm barb but there is a bolt on the inside that i wasn't able to remove, so i just used some wd-40 and scratched up the bolt to make better contact.. Idles beautiful now |

I use a small "cup style" wire brush in a Dremel rotary tool. |

I always wondered how long these coil packs last, seen the price of them vary a lot, but never heard or read of one failing. But now you have made me want to check mine... |

They do fail occasionally - I haven't had any on my GV fail, but my sister has had two go on her V6 Vitara. In addition to the coils there's also an ignitor transistor inside them. |
