Hi all!

Been lurking for a while, had a jimny in the past and now have finally gotten a 92 sierra. Caught it cheap with a G16 conversion, with a couple of oil leaks and a running issue.

First of all, what breed have I got? It's a 16V TBI.....the throttle cable has Alto written on it in paint pen and the exhaust heat shield has baleno lol. Rocker cover looks like what I remember a Vit cover being? I'd love to be able to go to a wreckers and peruse different cars to match it up but we have one wreckers here and they're useless. The next wreckers is 1000kms away so please don't ask.

Second, as part of the sus conversion it looks like a cover plate was left off, exposing the flywheel ring gear. Could anyone suggest the name of this part or is it just a cover plate?

And here where the extractors foul the motor.....very well done. SE QLD workshop, won't mention the name...

The running issue - Idles at 2000rpm. The whole show is run from a Wolf 3D ecu. What I think is the IAC valve has no plug leading to it, but having put my finger over the smaller idle air tract and finding revs only change by 200rpm I've decided the problem is from another source. Checked for vacuum leaks using a can of easystart, no change in idle quality there. What about this odd coolant system going into the TB, thoughts, ideas?

Fuck I hate TBI.

Thanks in advance.

Go to http://www.suzukiinfo.com
Look at the TBI wiring diagrams.
Try to find one that matches the wiring you have.
Replace whatever bits of butchered loom are missing and go from there.
You bought yourself a whole heap of trouble.

Might be easier to find a 16V Vitara and swap manifold ECM and complete loom. That way you get multipoint EFI and you'll be able to get parts/do repairs a lot easier.

Flywheel dust shield is easy to get I have a few here.

Thanks for the reply want33s!

I'm not fussed about the loomage thats missing as it's only the ICS which I've already removed as a cause of my main problem.
Granted however, the rest of the room looks like a 1st yr apprentice had a crack.

Rang five places today, mainly SE corner but also Cairns but noone has anything. Will ring capalaba and city wreckers tomorrow but hopes aren't high.
Can't fit an intake manifold in an airbag anyhow no matter how creative you are, so the point is moot - running out of time.

Whenever I finish work at a decent hr one day I'll bleed my coolant system and put 150psi through that coolant valve setup. Something tells me that's the problem.

I'll pm you on those dust shields mate, makes my life easier then making one.

Cheers

Hello,
I've just finished the same swap on my samurai. What is the purpose of your aditional fuel pressure regulator? Have you disable the stock one?
My engine is running almost fine a few hickups at idle with warm engine. Maybe i need just to clean the TBI unit.

Yeah stock one had a busted diaphragm. The tbi coolant setup wasn't my issue, was incorrect inlet manifold gasket used by a tradesman. Since been dynoed at 42kW at the wheels with a torque curve flatter then the nullabor
