Hey guys, since all the talk of J20as popped up I've been wandering, is the J18 from the Baleno a viable conversion too?

It seems a whole lot easier and cheaper to get than a J20a and still has more than enough power. :)

Thanks

Hayden

yeap. no reason you couldnt.
From what i saw when i have a j18 in the shed. its easier as you dont have to do hydrollic clutch setup etc. J18 has the same size fly wheel as the g16

Awesomeness. :D

It sounds like quite a viable alternative to a G16b. :)

Might get tricky though- manifolds, accessories, sump/pickup- and I reckon there's more j20's around than j18's as they were only used in the GTX baleno IIRC

i reckon we only saw it in the GTX, even the j20a bolt on bits differ a bit between SV Vitara's & the Grand Vitara.
