What's the law with mod plate installation? Is the workshop legally required to secure them on, or can we do it ourselves if all the info is legit?

they are required to be fixed when the mod plate is done. they are also not allowed to be removed, or moved by the general public

Mine was mailed to me, after the Engineer sent his paperwork to the Transport department.
So, obviously, I had to attach it myself.

All you need it a drill and a rivet gun

In Qld the person issuing the mod plate must attach it. It must as close to the compliance plate as possible too

Good to know - i'll assume i'm OK. I'm just a bit suss on the workshop that did my LPG system transfer/install over here - i've paid for work done a few months ago, including for a gas compliance plate for RWC but they've been stalling over it, forgetting paperwork, playing dumb.... then yesterday I slipped him $50 and he magically remembered what needed doing again. But rather than installing the engraved plate on my car he's just handed it to me.

Not sure if I trust this workshop anymore, so I just want to make sure my arse isn't going to be in a jam if I put it on myself.
